Giving back to the nation that gave us everything
This knowledge hub and its community initiatives are a non-commercial, not-for-profit effort, undertaken purely for community and social service. This page explains why it exists and the terms on which its content is offered.
A citizen's duty, gladly accepted
India gave us our freedom as a society. Our communities, our teachers and our Government gave us education, opportunity and support when we needed it most, and helped us build our livelihoods. Today, many of us are able to stand on our own feet. Now it is our turn to give back: to share what we have learned, to support those who need help, and to do our part, as responsible citizens, to make our country proud.
We are reminded of this duty every day. Our soldiers guard our borders, and our police keep our cities and villages safe. They work through holidays and festivals so that the rest of us can celebrate them in peace. Their service asks something of us in return.
A land of sages, seers and noble kings
India is the land of sages and munis whose wisdom has guided humanity for thousands of years. It is the land of rulers remembered for righteousness and courage: Raja Ambarisha, devoted to dharma; Shri Rama, the ideal of truth and duty; Vikramaditya, celebrated for justice and learning; Chandragupta Maurya, who united a vast land; Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who built Swarajya; Maharana Pratap, who never surrendered his honour; and many more.
A freedom earned by sacrifice
For nearly two centuries India endured colonial rule. The freedom we enjoy today was won with the blood, sweat and sacrifice of countless freedom fighters. Great leaders such as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, together with many whose names history did not record, gave their lives so that we may speak freely and live with dignity today.
Building the nation is everyone's work
Building India is not the duty of the Government alone. Every citizen shares it. This initiative is my small contribution: free, reliable knowledge on compliance and law for citizens, micro-businesses and students, and support for community causes such as the protection and care of Gaumata. If it helps even one person avoid a penalty, understand their rights, or pass an examination with confidence, it has served its purpose.
